I get businesses found in local search: Google Business Profile optimisation, local landing pages, reviews strategy and citation hygiene — for companies serving specific cities in India and the UAE.
Why does local search decide who gets the call?
“Near me” is where buying happens. Dentist near me. Jewellery showroom Ahmedabad. ERP vendor Dubai. CA firm Andheri. These aren’t research queries — they’re wallet-out queries, and the map pack at the top of the results takes most of the clicks before organic listings get seen at all.
The businesses in that pack aren’t there by luck. Their profile, categories, reviews, photos and citations all agree with each other, and Google reads that agreement as legitimacy. Meanwhile the typical SME’s listing has the old phone number, three categories chosen in 2019, one photo from a Diwali two years ago, and reviews nobody ever answered. The dhandha is local; the internet’s front door is local too — and most owners have never once searched their own category in their own city to see what a customer sees.
Try it now, on your own phone, logged out. If you’re not in the top three, this page is the fix — and if a competitor with worse service outranks you, that’s not injustice, it’s configuration.
What does the service include?
- Google Business Profile, actually managed. Primary category chosen precisely — it’s a ranking lever, and “Dental clinic” versus “Dentist” measurably differ — services listed, photos recent, posts occasional, Q&A answered. Google reads maintenance as legitimacy; abandonment reads as closure.
- Local landing pages with real signals. Pages about the place, with the address, the map, the local phone number, the branch team, directions people actually use — not a pincode-swapped template. The rule beneath this is non-negotiable and explained below.
- The reviews engine. An ethical ask-flow that turns genuinely happy customers into public proof: the right moment, a direct link, no incentive attached. Plus owner replies to everything — the calm, specific reply to an angry review converts more readers than the five stars around it. Bought reviews are a ban risk and read fake from a kilometre; nakli chamak, asli nuksaan.
- Citation and NAP hygiene. Name, address, phone — identical everywhere: profile, site, directories, aggregators. Mismatched citations read as different businesses splitting your authority; the cleanup is boring and it works.
- Local schema. LocalBusiness markup wired correctly to the site’s entity graph, so the profile, the pages and the schema tell one story a machine can verify.
- Tracking that reflects reality. Calls, direction requests, and profile actions — the metrics that become customers — not impressions, which become screenshots.
The rule I won’t break — and why it protects you
I only build a city page where you have a real local signal: an address, a Google Business Profile, or a named client in that city. City pages without local proof are spam with a pincode. Google’s systems recognise the pattern, buyers recognise it faster, and the periodic spam updates exist precisely to vaporise it — sites that mass-produce “best [service] in [city]” pages hand back their rankings with interest, and the penalty splashes onto the pages that were legitimate.
This is why the engagement starts with an honest map of where you actually operate, and why “can you also make pages for these forty cities” gets a written no. Where you genuinely expand — a new branch, a real client base in a new city — the page follows the signal within days. The signal first, always — pages follow reality, never precede it. The Google updates article covers what happens to everyone who orders it the other way around.
What’s different about India and the Gulf?
The mechanics are global; the winning details are local. WhatsApp is a ranking-adjacent conversion weapon — a click-to-chat link on the profile converts the hesitant enquiry that would never fill a form; in India and the UAE, half your callers would rather message (/products/whatsapp-automation closes that loop downstream). Vernacular and code-mixed queries are real volume — buyers search “sasta AC service”, “CA near me Gujarati”, bilingual Dubai searches in Arabic and English; profiles and pages that acknowledge the mixed register capture what English-only competitors miss. The citation map is different — Justdial, IndiaMART, Sulekha and the trade directories carry weight in India that generic Western citation lists ignore; in the UAE, the free-zone directories and Google’s own ecosystem dominate. Photos out-convert text here — the storefront, the team, the actual work; profiles with recent real photos win the tie-breaks in markets where trust is visual. And the phone number must be answerable — the pack drives calls, and a ranking that rings an unanswered number is marketing for your competitor. Operational readiness is part of the SEO; I’ll say so before we start.
How does the compounding loop work?
Local SEO is the most mechanical compounding loop in marketing: an accurate, active profile earns more calls → served well, those become reviews → reviews and activity lift ranking → ranking earns more calls. Every cycle strengthens the next, and none of it can be faked sustainably.
My job is to remove the friction at each joint: the profile accurate and maintained, the ask-flow catching delight at the right moment, the replies written, the citations agreeing, the pages carrying real signals. Six months of that boring discipline beats six years of tricks — and unlike tricks, it survives every update Google ships, because it’s made of the same thing the algorithm is trying to measure: a real business, operating well, in a real place.
For the wider growth system this plugs into — content, ads, conversion — see /services/marketing; for the store-and-site foundation underneath it, /services/website-design and /services/technical-seo.
What’s the proof?
The method article is public — Local SEO, the guide gives away the mechanics this page sells, which is this site’s standing habit: the confidence trick where the trick is competence. The discipline behind the no-fake-signals rule is the same one that runs the rest of this practice — the reviews-and-updates reality documents the graveyard of shortcuts. And the engagement structure — audit first, fixed scope, measured monthly — matches every other service on this site, because paisa vasool is a system, not a slogan. Monthly you see calls, direction requests, ranking positions per branch, and the review velocity — the four numbers the loop is made of, on one page.

The two-minute homework
Search your category in your city right now — then search it the way a customer in a hurry would. Note who’s in the pack and where you aren’t. Then /contact, bring the branch list, the honest city map, and whoever answers your phone — chalo, kaam shuru.
Questions I actually get
How long does it take to reach the map pack?
Competitive city categories — months, honestly, with steady work on profile, reviews and citations. Weak categories — sometimes weeks, because most local competitors are doing nothing. The audit tells you which market you are in before you spend, and I will tell you plainly if your category is a long war rather than a quick win.
Can you manage multiple branches?
Yes — one profile per branch, one identical name-address-phone truth everywhere, branch pages with real local signals, and review flows per location. Multi-branch is where local SEO compounds hardest, because the operational discipline that most chains lack is exactly what the ranking rewards.
Do you work outside India — Dubai and the UAE?
Yes — Dubai and the northern emirates, same mechanics with Gulf specifics: Arabic keyword variants where they matter, bilingual profiles, and the free-zone address realities. The India-UAE corridor businesses get both markets handled in one engagement.
Can you remove bad reviews?
Only policy-violating ones, through the official reporting route — fake, off-topic, or abusive reviews do come down. Genuine bad reviews get answered well instead, and a calm, specific owner reply converts more readers than a suspicious wall of five stars. Anyone promising removal of real reviews is describing either fraud or fiction.
Will you buy reviews or run a review incentive for us?
No. Purchased and incentivised reviews violate Google's policies, read fake to actual buyers, and get profiles suspended in the periodic crackdowns — the platform runs them regularly. I build the ethical ask-flow instead — the moment of genuine delight, a direct link, no reward attached. Slower, permanent, and it survives audits.
We rank fine organically — do we still need the map pack?
For local buying intent, yes — the pack sits above organic results and takes most of the clicks for near-me and city-qualified searches. Ranking below it organically is winning the wrong race. The two reinforce each other, but for a business serving a city, the pack is the prize.
What do you need from us to start?
Access to the Business Profile or the authority to claim it, your real branch and service list, and honesty about which cities you genuinely operate in — because I will not build pages for cities where you have no signal, and that rule is not negotiable. It protects your rankings more than any tactic I could add.
