This site collects the minimum it can operate on. Here is exactly what, why, how long it is kept, and what you can require me to do about it — under India’s DPDP Act 2023, UK and EU GDPR, and the UAE’s PDPL.

What is collected
Analytics, in aggregate. This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-B62JYX4SEZ) to understand which pages are read and how. It records page views, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, referring source, and a set of engagement events I have configured: scroll depth, reading progress, which mega-menu sections are opened, whether the animated diagrams are watched, and clicks on outbound and contact links.
That data is behavioural rather than personal in intent — I use it to learn which writing is useful, not to build a profile of you. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data on Google’s infrastructure under their privacy policy. IP addresses are handled by Google’s own anonymisation before storage.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, path, user agent — for delivery and security. That is ordinary infrastructure logging, not something I query.
Fonts. Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers.
What is not collected: no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no social trackers, no third-party data brokers, no account system, and no attempt to identify individual visitors.
If you contact me
When a contact route exists on this site, the details you type — your name, your email, and whatever you choose to tell me about your problem — are used for exactly one purpose: to reply to you. Those messages live in my email, protected as my own correspondence, and are deleted on request.
They are never sold, never shared for marketing, and never added to a mailing list you did not ask to join. There is no newsletter on this site; the subscribe form that briefly existed was removed rather than wired to anything.
How long things are kept
Analytics data follows the retention period configured in Google Analytics, after which it is deleted by Google automatically. Correspondence is kept while a conversation or engagement is live and for as long as commercial records require afterwards, then deleted. Server logs rotate on the host’s schedule.
Your rights
In India, the DPDP Act 2023 gives you the right to access what I hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. In the UK and EU, GDPR gives you those rights plus data portability and the right to object to processing. In the UAE, the PDPL provides equivalent protections.
I honour all three without requiring you to cite the statute. One email is enough, and I will act on it rather than asking you to complete a form.
If you would rather not be measured at all, browser-level Do Not Track is respected by the engagement analytics on this site — that code checks for it and disables itself — and Google’s own opt-out add-on blocks Analytics entirely.
Third parties, named
Vercel — hosting and delivery, sees standard server logs. Google Analytics — aggregate usage measurement. Google Fonts — typeface delivery.
That is the complete list. If it changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish sessions. Nothing else on this site sets a cookie — there is no login, no cart, no preference store and no advertising infrastructure.
There is currently no consent banner. If you are visiting from the UK or EU and would prefer one to exist, that is a fair position and I am treating it as a live question rather than a settled one; in the meantime the opt-out routes above work immediately and without asking me.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and there is nothing here designed to appeal to them.
